Objectives

  • Students will write a letter or send an email to the president of the United States.
  • Students will express their opinions on current issues in a letter.

Materials

Procedures

  1. Encourage students to share their ideas on what the president should set as goals for his term in office.
  2. Keep notes on the board of the major topics discussed.
  3. Tell students to write a letter or send an email to the president (see addresses above) detailing their ideas.
  4. After editing the students' work, send off the letters or emails.

Students will write a letter to the president with details of their ideas for goals to be met during his/her administration. This is a great activity for Letter Writing Week, observed in January.
